Mission

To advance education in fine arts by providing quality instruction, exhibitions and performance opportunities for the benefit of the community

 Vision

The Carnegie Arts Center is a valued community cultural center that offers a place to share creative talents and appreciation of the fine arts.

History

The Carnegie Arts Center was incorporated as a non-profit 501©(3), self supporting organization in 1987. The Carnegie offers private music lessons, small classes, individual attention, and reasonable class tuition fees. The Carnegie presents exhibitions and performances by artists from across the country. The vision and mission for a community arts center was formed by Rebecca Johnson.  She was later joined by her co-director Mary Ellen Maxwell.  The results of years of hard work and dedication show every day here at the arts center. The objective for quality instruction in musical, visual and performance arts was a priority from the beginning of the Carnegie Arts Center.  Ninety percent of what is done here is education in the arts.

Serving the community and creating a vibrant, creative place to learn makes the Carnegie extremely valuable to the community.
