Financial Status: The Carnegie Arts Center is a 501(c)3 private, non-profit organization. Operating funds are supplied through memberships, tuition from classes and private music lessons, fundraisers, grants written by the Carnegie staff, and the generous donations of individuals like you! Some programs at the Carnegie Arts Center are supported in part by the Kansas Arts Commission, the National Endowment for the Arts, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, the National Guild of Community Schools of the Arts, the United Way, and the Leavenworth Parks and Recreation Department. The Carnegie Arts Center is not a goverment-funded organization. Membership: Members of the Carnegie Arts Center receive discounts on tuition for classes and private music lessons at the Carnegie Arts Center, as well as some ticketed events (concerts, etc.) hosted by the Carnegie Arts Center. Members also recieve semester class schedules and announcements of gallery exhibitions and special events throughout the year. The Carnegie Arts Center offers several different levels of membership.
Your membership to the Carnegie Arts Center helps keep the arts strong in the Leavenworth area! Fundraisers: The Carnegie Arts Center hosts sevear fundraisers each year. Among the fundraisers in 2009 were a Wine Tasting in the early spring and a Beer Tasting in September. First Presbyterian Church also hosted a garage sale fundraiser to benefit the Carnegie Arts Center in September. The Third Annual Souper Bowl Saturday fundraiser is scheduled for spring 2010.
